St.Albans, Vermont(near the Canadian border) holds a three day Maple festival at the end of April, partly to celebrate the end of the maple syrup season in Vermont and partly to bring some extra business to the downtown merchants. The winter is long in St Albans and this event marks the end of it. The community is close to Quebec and La Belle Provence influence is everywhere, even at Walmart where French is the second language for each sign. Its not quite Bill 101, which would see English as a subtitle and French as a title.
