Video-Vermont burns Blu-Ray Discs and regular DVDs

As of April, 2007, Blu-Ray technology is allowing the burning of high definition video to both Blu-Ray 25 MB and 50 MB discs and regular DVD-R disks. A 25 MB Blu-Ray will play high definition video for about one hour. About 25 minutes of high definition video can be burned to a regular DVD-R disk for playback on a Blu-Ray player only.

We can burn your wedding disc onto Blu-Ray if you have a Sony Playstation 3 or a late model Sony Blu-Ray player. We cannot guarantee perfect playback on other players. This is a new technology and not all players are the same.

As of this time period, printable Blu-Ray disks cost about 10 times as much as a regular DVDs. The software and time needed to burn them can take many hours, so we charge more for this service. However, if you need Blu-Ray and are agreeable to some limitations, you can have your wedding delivered in high definition on a regular disk(s) and at a lower cost.

An alternative to Blu-Ray

There are two standards evolving for high definition video. One is Blu-Ray being pushed by Sony and the other is Apple with its Itunes and Apple TV. The Apple approach is to keep your video on a hard disk so your video can be transferred later to whatever technology you prefer. If you'd like to have your wedding video delivered as a video file, playable in HD video on an Apple TV, please let us know. This approach can save you money if you want your Video delivered in HD.
