The annual Bridgewater raft race is starting to draw contestants from far away. The 2009 race included an entry from Boston, called the Beantown Bomber. The raft was made up to look like an aircraft. Then, there was a mock up of an ATV, as you see in the little pick on the left. As usual, it was the smaller, light rafts that did the best in the race. They seem less likely to get caught up in the rocks in the Ottauquechee River. In this video you will see the winner early on racing down the river in somehing that looks pretty much like a modern canoe, except of course, it is home made. The race draws several hundred spectators.
