Did you know that the world's maple syrup market is dominated by Quebec, which is the world's largest producer. Quebec sets the market price and exports all over the world. Vermont is the second or third largest producer and protects its market rather jealously. Vermont maple syrup can not be blended with syrup from anywhere else, even though it might taste the same.
